Wood Pallet

Well I had some great responces to my Abstract post so I thought I would clear up some of the questions here. I found a mill in Oregon last year and we drove there to buy our wood. When Laura and I got there Chris the owner was very nice to us and helped us personaly. Our first pallet that had all kinds of different small pieces of wood on it he gave us a great deal and Laura is still cutting from. We bought all different kinds of wood from him drove away with a truck load of all kind of nice wood for $700.00 and when I say a truck load I mean a truck load we are strill cutting from the wood from our first trip to Oregon and that has been a year ago. After making the first live edge picture frame I called Chris and asked him if he would start putting another pallet of slabs together for me because I wanted some more live edge wood for frame not thinking of Tables at the time. So he said he would do it several months later I drove back to the mill to get the wood when I got there he had a pallet that was so high I had to ask if they could put it on two pallets so I could hall it home he kept stacking more wood on the pallets. Although it had mosty allot of Madrone slabs on it he threw in allot of differnt woods also inclueding several pieces of Walnut slabs. When I asked what he wanted for it he said just give me XYZ he new I did not have allot of money being I am out of work and I still bought some more wood from him once again I drove home with a truck load of wood but this time for only $300.00. OK I am sure he can’t do this all the time but he is a very fair person and tries to help his customers. Beleive it or not after all the things we have cut and made we still have a all kinds of wood left. I don’t need to really buy any wood for a while. But now that Robert got me into cutting box I do need to buy some different wood is all. So if you are looking to buy some wood and don’t care if it AAA wood from the outside look and are willing to do some sanding or re cutting. Now the trick to getting great deals with him is going there and getting to know him one on one. His wood on his site seems to be high prices at time because he only trys to show his best wood there. But if you call him you may be surprized at what he can do for you. As long as you are willing to work around checks and flaw I am sure he has some of that wood laying around and he does not show it to the world because he tries to keep high standard with the wood he sells on his site. If the wood has a problem he tells you about it.
